5 Babes Discovered at Sporting Events

Hot chicks at sporting events are nothing new. What televised game would be complete without the obligatory shot of sexy sports babes cheering from the stands? However, while most of these girls are quickly forgotten, some manage to turn their short-lived appearances into long-term fame. Here are 5 hot women who were discovered at sporting events and how these discoveries changed their lives.

Jenn Sterger

In 2005, a scantily-clad Jenn Sterger appeared on national television during a Florida State – Miami football game (below, in hat). The shot caught the attention of commentator Bret Musburger who announced that “1,500 red-blooded Americans just decided to apply to Florida State.” Bret wasn’t the only male who noticed the lovely Jenn (I’ll bet the girls next to her felt like chopped liver). Shortly after her unplanned appearance, Jenn Sterger became an internet sensation and her newfound fame quickly led to appearances in Maxim and Playboy and hosting/commentator gigs for ABC, Versus, Fuel TV, and the New York Jets. During her time with the Jets, Jenn alleged that Brett Favre sent her suggestive texts and photos of his penis. Favre denied sending the images, but was fined $50,000 for “failure to cooperate” with the investigation.

Arielle Angelovich

In February 2010, Arielle attended a Texas – Kansas basketball game in a snug Longhorns shirt. Appreciative readers of the sports news blog Deadspin put their heads together and managed to figure out her name in less than 48 hours. They also tracked down pictures from her modeling portfolio as well as a 2007 news article featuring Arielle’s architect father. Though Arielle hasn’t (yet) earned the same level of fame as Jenn Sterger, you never know. Angelovich now attends the University of Denver where she is majoring in Global Studies.

Allison Stokke

In 2007, pole vaulter Allison Stokke, 17, was minding her own business at a track meet one day when someone snapped her photo and posted it to the Web. The picture spread like mad and Allison was an Internet star within hours of the original posting. The toned athlete, whose pole-vaulting skills earned her a scholarship to the University of California, graduated last year.

Kate Upton

Though 2012 SI Swimsuit cover girl Kate Upton wasn’t technically discovered at a sporting event, a video of her doing the Dougie at a Los Angeles Clippers game helped launch her to fame. Upton, a Florida native, began modeling in 2008 and first appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2011 (where she was named Rookie of the Year). Kate has also modeled for the likes of Dooney & Bourke, Guess, and Victoria’s Secret, though a casting director for VS said Kate wasn’t attractive enough to ever become a Victoria’s Secret angel.

Pamela Anderson

Ah, Pamela Anderson. Is it possible anyone hasn’t heard of this buxom, blonde beauty? She’s starred in Baywatch, has appeared on more Playboy covers than any other model, and has made sex tapes with some of the world’s best-known rock stars. However, if she hadn’t attended a BC Lions game in the summer of 1989 we might have never heard her name. On that fateful day, a camera man picked the then 21-year-old blond beauty out of the crowd and displayed her image on the stadium screen. The crowd cheered, officials brought her down to the field where she received a standing ovation, and Pamela appeared in Playboy just a few months later. The rest is history.

Aspiring models, listen up! Slip into your sexiest outfit, go to a well-publicized sporting event, and try to catch the attention of the cameras. Who knows, you might just become the next sporting event babe.
