The Bourne Legacy star Jeremy Renner looks buff and broody on the cover of Empire. Renner, 41, chatted with the magazine about his new Bourne character, Aaron Cross.
"He's coming from a completely different background to Jason Bourne,” Renner told Empire. “He knows exactly who he is; he signed up to this. He wants to be part of a team. He’s a person who wants to be part of something, to have a sense of purpose. But then it's taken away."
The Academy Award nominated Renner certainly isn’t a stranger to action films. The actor has starred in The Hurt Locker, The Town, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, and The Avengers, among others. In addition to The Bourne Legacy, which will arrive in theaters August 13, Renner’s upcoming projects include Low Life, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, and Red 2.
Bourne Legacy producer Frank Marshall hopes to see more of the talented Jeremy Renner.
"You see there are several different programs in the movie with different skill sets,” Marshall told Empire. “All possibilities are open. My dream is that in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up."
The August issue of Empire this newsstands on Thursday, June 28. In the meantime, enjoy these photos of Jeremy Renner.
