After five days of babes and bikinis, Miami Fashion Week Swim has come to an end, giving fashionistas a few ideas about what to wear at next year’s beach bashes and pool parties. However, not all pieces at this year’s event are likely to make a mainstream debut. Here are some of the more unusual pieces to appear at the five-day swimwaer extravaganza and the babes that made them look good (sort of).
Kristin Cavallari looked smashing in a cobalt blue glass bikini designed by Diesel and inspired by SKYY Vodka’s iconic blue glass bottle.
"This is the first time I have ever walked a runway in a bathing suit," the former Hills star told People. "The glass sort of cut into my skin, and I was really nervous."

Diesel also unveiled a denim one piece which somehow manages to make this model look frumpy and oddly proportioned. I can only imagine how it would look on normal people.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Kate Upton modeled a satin bikini and bridal veil on July 15, another garment that doesn’t appear to be particularly flattering. The creation is part of the Beach Bunny bridal swimwear collection, a swimwear and cover-up line featuring hand beaded pearls, Chantilly lace, and Swarovski crystals.

Birds of a feather flock together and designers Delores Cortes and Lisa Blue have done their best to ensure that next year’s beachgoers will have no trouble attracting pelicans, herons, seagulls, and more.

This futuristic ensemble from Red Carter is interesting, but not very practical. Unless, of course, you enjoy wearing complicated, lace-up wedges to the beach or pool.
