Some may not define Jennifer Carpenter as "gorgeous" and it might have to do with those ugly plaid shirts she wears as Debra Morgan on the Showtime series Dexter. However, she has just announced her split from husband Michael C. Hall (Dexter himself!), so now that she'll soon be single, let's learn a little more about her.
Before she became famous for Dexter, Jennifer was praised for her portrayal of Emily Rose in the 2005 horror film The Exorcism of Emily Rose. While the film received mixed reviews, Jennifer won the MTV Movie Award for "Best Frightening Performance" and also received a Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. She was also chosen as the "Breakout Performer" of the 2006 Scream Awards.
In 2008, Jennifer starred in the film Quarantine and she's rumored to appear in the sequel, Quarantine 2: Terminal which takes place in an airport. She also has a small role in the recently released film Faster, and appearances in the upcoming movies The Hungry Rabbit Jumps and The Factory.
