Fifty-three beautiful women vied for the title of Miss America Saturday night, but only one won the coveted crown – Miss Wisconsin’s Laura Kaeppeler!
Hailing from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Kaeppeler, 23, wowed judges Mark Ballas (ABC's Dancing With The Stars), Kris Jenner (E!'s Keeping Up With The Kardashians), Lara Spencer (ABC's Good Morning America), Teri Polo (ABC's Man Up), Raul de Molina (Univision's El Gordo y La Flaca), Chris Powell (ABC's Extreme Makeover), and Mike Fleiss (Executive Producer of ABC's The Bachelor) with a stellar opera performance, not to mention a black beaded evening gown and skimpy white bikini. The dazzling brunette, whose platform is mentoring the children of incarcerated parents, plans to use her $50,000 winnings to become a speech pathologist.
Miss Oklahoma’s Betty Thompson placed second in the prestigious pageant, while Kaitlyn Monte, Miss New York, placed third. Kaeppeler replaces Nebraska’s Teresa Scanlan as the reigning Miss America.
