This Friday brings the box office release of Bad Teacher, a comedy movie about a hot teacher (Cameron Diaz) who cares more about landing a wealthy colleague (Justin Timberlake) then properly educating her students. Though Diaz is the well-known hottie in this film, Bad Teacher also stars Lucy Punch, a 33-year-old English actress who isn’t as well known this side of the Pond. Here are a few fun facts about up and coming hottie Lucy Punch.

Born in London, Punch joined the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain at age 16 and performed with the group from 1993 to 1997. A year later, Lucy landed a small part in The New Adventures of Robin Hood and went on to appear in a number of English television series including Renford Rejects, Days Like These, Let Them Eat Cake, and Big Bad World. Despite her good looks Punch has played Cinderella’s evil step sister three different times, including the 2004 film Ella Enchanted.

“My first film role was as an ugly evil step sister in a TV film of Cinderella directed by Beeban Kidron,” Punch said in an interview. “I remember going to the audition less nervous than usual, as for some reason I have an affinity with this part. To date, I have played Cinderella's ugly sister three times!

In recent years, Lucy has starred or appeared in Elektra Luxx, You Will Meet a Talk Dark Stranger (in which she replaced Nicole Kidman), Dinner for Schmucks, and A Little Bit of Heaven. On June 20, American comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis revealed that Punch will play Deena Pilgrim, the female lead in the TV pilot Powers. Powers is based on the popular comic book series created by Bendis. The actress also plays Pauline in the upcoming film The Giant Mechanical Man so expect to see a lot more of the lovely and talented Lucy Punch!
