Russell Brand and Kristen Wiig have been named as PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities of 2011. The pair of comedic actors were said to have won many people over not only with their hilarious nature but also their compassionate lifestyle. Brand has been a vegetarian since he was 14, and Wiig has attributed the plant-based diet to her staying fit.
Brand says of vegetarianism, “You shouldn’t eat animals, it’s mean to them.”
Wiig said in an interview with Women’s Health that she maintains her healthy lifestyle by running, doing yoga, and “eating lots of tofu and soy.”
The honor has been handed down to them from last year’s winners, Olivia Wilde and Cobra Starship/Midtown frontman Gabe Saporta. The year before that, Kellie Pickler and Milo Ventimiglia (of Heroes fame) took the top spot.
