A 1994 billboard of Eva Herzigova modeling for Wonderbra has been voted the most iconic advertisement image of all time.
The traffic-stopping photo was blamed for causing auto accidents, as commuters stared at the huge roadside posters. Wonderbra, of course, is a type of push-up bra that gained worldwide prominence in the 1990s. The brand was developed in Canada, and since 1994 when the ad came out, it has expanded its brand from one style of push-up bra to a full line of lingerie
The “Hello Boys” ad also propelled Herzigova to worldwide fame, and made the model a household name. Now, the ad has won a public vote as the favorite “iconic” advertising image in a poll of 10,000 people done by the Outdoor Media Centre – the trade body for outdoor advertising.
Herzigova has also been featured in ads for Guess Jeans and has also appeared in the Victoria’s Secret catalog and Sports Illustrated. She also did modeling work for lingerie company La Senza, and sued them in 2003 because they refused to pay her $36,000 for a catalog photo after she cut her hair short and the company didn’t approve.
